Here at History Clicking we have been busy preparing for our April theme – Roman History – so much so, we are running a little late.
The April theme is inspired by the anniversary of the assassination of the Roman Emperor Caracalla, on 8th April 217. He is memorable for his propensity for political violence – not uncommon for a Roman Emperor – but also, incongruously, for making the rights and privileges of Roman citizenship universal for all free people of the Roman Empire in 212.
Please read our articles on Roman Citizenship in the Roman Empire.
In order to start the April theme, we are going to pause our 10 Part Lend-lease blog (we have reached Part 6) n favour of our April Blog – ‘Emperor Caracalla: Revolutionary or Cruel Autocrat?’
